Solar Coming to Wyandot County Print E-mail

The Ohio State University Extension service is deeply involved in a renewable energy project bringing solar energy resources to Wyandot County, Ohio. With a jump-start from Ohio Senate Bill 221, which set out the requirements for solar generation, American Electric Power (AEP) issued a request for proposals to build a solar generation facility.

Camp – on Your Resume Print E-mail

For nearly 1,200 FFA Organization members, their experiences at summer camp might be a deciding factor for the jobs they will assume in Ohio some day. Throughout June and July, FFA members and their advisors came from across the state to Carroll County, in eastern Ohio, to spend five days at one of six summer camp sessions at Camp Muskingum, located at Leesville Lake.

Bioplastics at NPE, a major presence among exhibitors Print E-mail
NPEBioplastics was a major topic at the NPE2009 (National Plastics Exhibit), which took place June 22-26 at the McCormick Place in Chicago.  Among the hundreds of exhibitors, the increasing awareness and availability of bioplastics was evident.  Biodegradable and bio-related materials were being offered by such companies as ENSO Bottles (biodegradable PET) and PolyOne (lead and phthalate-free).  Plastics materials containing soy or corn were on display by Merquinsa, Mirel, Nature Works, PSM Bioplastics to name a few.  Dow Chemical and Dupont sponsored an “Emerging Technologies Pavilion” which focused on sustainability, bioplastics, energy alternatives and nanocomposites.
